Product Review: Cory.zalia (Homeopathic Cold Treatment)

Our girls came down with their first minor cold a couple of weeks ago. They weren't too affected by it, apart from some congestion and runny noses. Otherwise, they were in good spirits.

As a holistic nutritionist, I'm often looking for natural remedies for my family. Having used Boiron's homeopathic products in the past and homeopathy in general, I purchased Cory.zalia ahead of time. Inevitably, the girls were going to get colds and I didn't want to be running out to the store at that point. Cory.zalia is a homeopathic cold remedy that helps relieve cold symptoms, including runny noses, congestion and sneezing. The remedy is tasteless and does not contain any alcohol, sugar or additives.

Homeopathy is one of the safest forms of medicine. It is safe for adults, babies, children and even pregnant women. I actually took a homeopathic remedy while I was pregnant with the twins. Homeopathy dates back to the days of Hippocrates and has been used for over 200 years.

On the first night of their cold, Teagan woke up in the middle of the night (which she hadn't done in two months). She woke up due to her congestion. I grabbed one of the small tubes of Cory.zalia and gave it to her. Within minutes her congestion started to subside. For the next two days, I gave them three doses each day. Like over-the-counter cold medicines, Cory.zalia provides temporary symptomatic relief.

Cory.zalia turned out to be a godsend for those few days, especially in the evenings. It allowed the girls to breathe easier and sleep more soundly. I felt good knowing that I was giving my babies something that was completely natural and safe.

Cory.zalia is a must have for the medicine cabinet of all parents!

  4. I just took Coryzalia -from the box that says 1mth-6yrs - fu=igured if i'm nursing this would be better than any other meds... well, it worked immediatelyfor an adult!!! Which actually scared me a bit, as it dried up my congestion a bit too well and got a bit of a dehydration headache... so recommended that babies are well hydrated if you use them

  5. I conveniently came down with a cold (stuffy nose, congestion) on the weekend and decided that I should also try Coryzalia. Unlike the previous comment, I did not notice a substantial difference. Fortunately, I did not get a headache but I am also extremely good about getting 2-3L of water per day.
While homeopathics are gentle enough for newborns and adults alike, there is still the risk of mild side effects. It's always wise to consult with a homeopath or a naturopathic doctor, if you have any concerns at all.

  6. Wondering if Coryzalia is safe to give with Tempra which contains acetaminophen. She's 7 mths old and full of cold and feeling miserable.

  7. I give Coryzalia 3.5 out of 5 stars for kids - gives relief, but not a miracle. Don't bother with the adult version.

Like a good deal of naturally-based medicines, Coryzalia worked well for my daughter (2 years old), but it's not a miracle. But, since you cannot give a child anything other than maybe some Tylenol or Advil, at least it's something and it did allow her to sleep and function during the day a bit easier.
However, I tried the adult version of the product last time I had a cold and got no relief. Although, after listening to the previous commenter, maybe I should have just taken some of the child's version...lol.

    1. I did not take this homeopathic remedy while I was pregnant, but did take other remedies. While I would consider homeopathics safe for pregnant women, I would advise you to consult your own naturopathic or homeopathic doctor prior to taking anything.

  9. I've been treating my 5 yr old son's colds with Coryzalia + Saline sprays ever since he came up with his first cold. I must say that I love both products. My son's cold usually disappears withing 2-3 days of using both. They are usually sold at Walmart here in Canada but Fortinos carries a wider range of products by Boiron.
